On 12 Nov members from our club Tim, Maggie, JD, Tina, Myrna, Robert, Bob, Christina, Patrick, and family and friends attended the 247th Marine Corps Birthday Ball Celebration hosted by the Marine Corps Coordinating Council Southeast Texas at the Woodlands Marriott Convention center.
With a room of over 950 Service Members and Family the night was entertained with Bagpipes and Drums music from the Houston Highlanders Pipes and Drums, Color Guard presentation by the Houston Consortium NROTC, Honor Guard and Cake detail from the ESTEM Academy JROTC, and after Birthday messages from the Marine Corps and Navy’s senior Officer and Enlisted we heard a great speech from Lieutenant Colonel Russell Fluker Battalion Commander Inspector -Instructor 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines. The night was capped off with a dinner by Chef Nicolas Sevaux (Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake was a hit) and music by DJ Eric Green.
We all look forward to next year.
