A Message from Our President
Bob Gebhard PDG
I am so honored to serve as your president this year.  It is hard to believe that I have less than six months to serve as president of this awesome club.  We must continue to build a stronger future for our organization.  It is good that we are reaching out to new people and introducing them to Rotary.

The time is NOW to seize the moment and build our club.  I challenge each of you to bring 2 prospects to a meeting before February 28.  Let’s welcome new faces and find additional ways to serve.  This is how we will continue to impact the world.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Bob Gebhard, President

2nd ANNUAL FIELD OF HONOR
In honor of Vietnam Veterans day, March 29th, 2023, we are proud to create our second annual Field of Honor®.

March 29th has been officially designated as National Vietnam War Veterans Day, as Americans unite to thank and honor Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.

Creating an awe-inspiring panorama, United
States flags will fly in a solemn formation at
Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center during the last week of March 2023. This stirring display of hundreds of flags will bring the community together in a patriotic tribute to honor our heroes.
March 29th is a fitting choice for a day honoring Vietnam veterans. It was chosen to be observed in perpetuity as March 29, 1973, was the day United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished and, also the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam. In addition, on and around this same day Hanoi released the last of its acknowledged prisoners of war.

Each U.S. flag represents an individual and tells a story. Flags may be sponsored to honor all Vietnam Veterans This unique event is the
perfect opportunity for all of us to remember and honor our many heroes.
The display is open to all without charge. Don’t miss it!
Sponsorships available.
Purchase a flag in honor of your Vietnam Veteran.  Flags are $50 each.

What is the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin
"A Lasting Memento of the Nation's Thanks!"
The Commemoration is providing Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins to Commemorative Partners for dignified public presentations to U.S. military veterans, living at home or abroad, who served during the Vietnam War period as a lasting memento of the Nation's thanks.
Living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location, are eligible to receive one lapel pin.
We make no distinction between veterans who served in-country, in-theater, or who were stationed elsewhere during the Vietnam War period.  All were called to serve, none could self-determine where they were stationed, and all were seen in the same way by a country that could not separate the war from the warrior, as we do today.
